Future of Teaching and Learning Survey Report
The results of the Future of Teaching and Learning Survey affirmed Western’s strengths in teaching and learning, particularly our strong commitment to experiential learning and active learning approaches, including collaborative learning, inquiry‑oriented learning, and lifelong learning. These areas were identified as key priorities where we should continue to invest.
The survey also highlighted additional priority areas and cross‑cutting themes, including EDIDA and the use of generative AI in teaching and learning.
In addition, the survey sought to better understand the teaching and learning realities and challenges experienced by members of our campus community. These insights will help ensure that future action plans are responsive to current conditions and needs.
Drawing on the survey findings, along with a review of existing campus plans and institutional priorities, Action Plan Groups (APGs) will be established to develop reports and recommendations that will guide next steps for the Future of Teaching and Learning at Western.
