Higher education is at a turning point.

News headlines, all asking versions of "should you go to university?"

Rapid technological change, shifting public perceptions of higher education, and growing concerns about the alignment between degree outcomes and workforce needs are prompting a fundamental question: Why go to university? At the same time, priorities related to teaching and learning are embedded across many of Western’s existing plans and strategies. Bringing these together into a clear, overarching action plan, one that reflects the central importance of teaching and learning, will help strengthen and advance these shared goals in a coordinated and meaningful way.
