Why Now?
Higher education is at a turning point.

Rapid technological change, shifting public perceptions of higher education, and growing concerns about the alignment between degree outcomes and workforce needs are prompting a fundamental question: Why go to university? More specifically, what is the unique value of learning at a research-intensive institution like Western?
At the same time, priorities related to teaching and learning are embedded across many of Western’s existing plans and strategies. Bringing these together into a clear, overarching action plan, one that reflects the central importance of teaching and learning, will help strengthen and advance these shared goals in a coordinated and meaningful way.
